About the memorial: Situated - St. John’s Church is situated in Church Street in close proximity to the centre of the village, approximately 3 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. Description – a large wooden memorial adjacent to the alter listing the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in two World Wars. The period commemorated is 1914 – 1919 and 1939 - 1945 National Golcar School Roll 1914 Great of War 1919 Honour “In that last Muster before the throne of God shall be found these our beloved” In Memoriam
