About the memorial: This Memorial is situated on the outer wall adjacent to the main entrance to Meltham Parish Church. Description – the whole is surmounted by a decorated wreath above which there is a cross. The letters are sculpted in relief block letters. At the foot of each middle column there is a decoration (simple) in relief No second names are detailed /given The spellings of some surnames are slightly different to the norm but all have been checked No dates, ages or units are given The Memorial is a stone slab fixed to the Church wall but there is no indication or information regarding the sculptor The period commemorated is 1914 – 1918 and 1939 – 1945
