About the memorial: In St Hydroc Church are two battlefield crosses for Tommy Agar-Robartes, heir to Lanhydrock House. Inscribed on the wooden cross: Captain/ The Honble T C Agar Robartes MP/ Coldstream Guards/ Who Died Sept 30th 1915 Of Wounds Received/ In Action/ Nr Loos" The grave marker of Capt The Hon Thomas Agar Robartes who was killed near Loos on 30 September 1915 and is buried in the military cemetery in Lapigney. The cross is next to the stained glass window (ref 15699) commemorating his life in the family's church of St Hydroc. The church is on the Lanhydrock Estate to which Tommy was heir. It is at the north end of the east wall. It was formerly outside in the Churchyard. There is now a replica cross at that location.
