About the memorial: Erected and dedicated in 1921 to the fallen of Skirbeck Quarter. It is of a 3 stepped design with the obelisk rising from the centre of the uppermost platform with cross atop. After almost 100 years standing as a constant reminder of our brave troops who fell in the Great War it is in need of a little tender love and care. Our pre-application has been tendered to the War Memorials Trust who, hopefully, will see fit to help us to rejuvenate our beacon of faith to allow it to serve as that reminder to our brave boys for another 100 years.
