About the memorial: This is a wooden roll of honour commemorating members of Bethesda Chapel, Hulme, Manchester, who died in World War I. Bethesda Chapel was part of the Churches of Christ denomination (now within the URC) It closed several years ago and the members moved to Green End Church in Burnage Manchester. Burnage High School for Boys has now adopted the memorial; several of its students live in the same roads as the men named on the memorial formerly lived.
