About the memorial: A rough surfaced granite, Latin cross on a small square plinth (with white name plaque) set on two stepped base (the upper step has further white plaque with dedication). The main inscription, on a white stone panel, reads: TO THE DEAR MEMORY OF PHILIP MUSGRAVE NEELD WROUGHTON OF WOOLLEY PARK MAJOR BERKS YEOMANRY BORN AUGUST 30TH 1887 KILLLED IN ACTION AT GAZA PALESTINE APRIL 19TH 1917, AGED 29 On the south side, an additional panel reads: ALSO IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF ALL THOSE IN THE BERKS YEOMANRY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY 1914-1918
