About the memorial: Lt William George Teacher was killed at Thiepval in May 1916 aged 22. This was a few weeks before the start of the Somme Campaign. He was the great grandson of the founder of the whisky company. The window is in the south wall, over the south door onto Observatory Road. The imagery of the window represents the triumph of Right and Justice over the powers of Evil, designed by Meikle in 1917
