About the memorial: The original memorial hall was a redundant YMCA from an army camp circa 1930. The hall was used by members of the village Red Triangle Club, then later named the Freshford Memorial Club. The original wooden hut was replaced in 1965. A wall mounted cabinet in the foyer lists the names of the 111 men of Freshford who served in the First World War, and the 18 who gave their lives
