About the memorial: This might be stretching definitions a bit, but he clearly died as a result of the effects of wartime service. The memorial is on the south wall of the south transept immediately to the right of the main entrance, which is the Hambro family chapel. The Hambro family owned the estate from the 1860s to the 1930s. It is one of a group of family memorials, the middle one of the second left column in the group photograph. The chapel is dominated by a magnificent Pugin window above the memorials also shown in a photograph.
