About the memorial: The Marble Memorial plaque records the names of the fallen, as well as the installation of the 'Communion Rails erected in ever grateful remembrance of the men of this church who died for their country in the war1914-18.The plaque was removed when the old church was demolished, sadly it is not in the new church. The move took place it 1980's, it is possible that the communion rails were moved. The information for this submission has been found in the Lancashire County Archives, reference DDX 2828/acc11135 box 6.
