About the memorial: Street memorial in the form of a plaque 61 inches high x 32¾ inches wide (1.54 m x 830mm) with triple dome top and single line border. The names are listed in four columns. The words “The Great War” form an arc in Roman capitals at the top. The rest of the dedication and the names are in sans serif capitals in black with the words “Roll of Honour” and “Their names shall live for ever” at the bottom in red. Now in South Shields Town hall
