HE WAS EMPLOYED IN THE ACTIVE SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY FROM 1793 TO 1815, THE CAMPAIGN IN HOLLAND UNDER HRH THE DUKE OF YORK, THE REDUCTION OF THE WEST INDIA ISLANDS UNDER SIR RALPH ABERCROMBIE FROM 1803 TO THE CLOSE OF THE WAR, IN CANADA, N.AMERICA. ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF MARIA CLARA HIS WIFE YOUNGEST DAUGHTER OF THE LATE J.CUTHBERT ESQRE CASTLE HILL WHO DIED AT WEST COWES MARCH 12TH 1852 AGED 66
