About the memorial: OCTAGONAL LATIN CROSS AND PLINTH ON THREE STEPPED BASE. SWORD OF SACRIFICE ON FRONT FACE Designed and erected by T & J Ellery of Ryde, at a cost of £150. The memorial was unveiled on 18th September 1920. It was cleaned and the lettering was renewed in the Summer of 2008.
