About the memorial: Two black marble plaques Set within a alabaster arch flanked by recessed columns surmounted by two white stone figures. The arch is crenellated at the top. The figures are an archangel with sword (left) and St George(right). The heads of the saints were badly rebuilt in the 1980s after being vandalised. The upper plaque records 16 names from WW1. The lower plaque records 7 names from WW2.
