About the memorial: FLANKED BY COLUMNS AND SURMOUNTED BY PEDIMENT ON STEPPED BASE. SMALL SLOPING SHELF IN FRONT FOR WREATHS CROSS AND SUNBURST OVER INSCRIPTION. INSCRIPTION COMPLETELY UNREADABLE (1990) 'PROBABLY UNREPAIRABLE' (c IWM Archive 7891) According to IWM, their reference 7892 is a Roll of Honour inside the church made to replace the unreadble WM oin the churchyard. It is not clear whether the outside one was left to decay or removed.
