About the memorial: A limestone monument comprising a wheel cross on a square pedestal and three-stepped base. The cross has a roundel at the centre of the 6 o'clock face and small panels of interlaced strapwork on the four limbs. A recessed panel on the tapered shaft bears the inscription. The pedestal has a capstone and plinth and has the WW1 inscription on the 6 o'clock face. Although not stated as such, the names on the 3 o'clock face are of the WW2 casualties. The inscriptions and names are incised on upright capital block lettering coloured Black. The whole is surrounded by kerbstones which bear seven metal shell cases.
