About the memorial: The roadside memorial is located on a pavement area in Wood St. Cenotaph style memorial stands on a square granite base surrounded by a metal post & rail fence. Two tiered square Portland stone column surmounted by a Statue of Peace. Inscriptions on lower stage of column. St. George slaying a dragon, St. Michael slaying Satan & a widow with child and wreath in hand, all in relief on upper stage.
