About the memorial: Ships bell from Maid of Kent. Sunk at Dieppe in 1940 it was later placed on a later Maid of Kent which was withdrawn from service in 1982. It then hung in Southern House, Lord Warden Square Dover (the Dover HQ of Sealink UK). - formerly the Lord Warden Hotel. Now sited in the Dover Transport Museum.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

SHIPS BELL FROM MAID OF KENT A RAILWAY PASSENGER SHIP LAUNCHED IN 1925. BOMBED AND SUNK AT DIEPPE IN 1940 IT WAS RETURNED TO THIS SHIP WHICH BEARS HER NAME BY HERR EGEDIUS WAGNER OF NIEDERSSMAR RHINELAND GERMANY ON 6TH NOVEMBER 1967. BELL HAD BEEN PLACED ON LATER MAID OF KENT WHICH WAS WITHDRAWN FROM SERVICE 1982. IT WAS PLACED HERE IN 1982 IN THE PRESENCE OF THE SURVIVORD OF THE 1940 INCIDENT AT DIEPPE. IN MEMORY OF THEIR COLLEAGUES
