About the memorial: The memorial is approached by a steep path from the centre of the village. Turn right at the junction of Montboddo Street and Kintore Street into road signposted for golf course and use path after corrugated iron. A rectangular rectangular column topped with a small pediment, on top of which is a ball finial. On the front face is an inverted sword over the handle of which is a wreath. Two sprays of foliage cross behind the sword. Below is a rectangular base sitting on a four-stepped plinth. It was erected September 11, 1920
