On the outer circle of the badge - D Company on the top and on the lower - Formby On the plinth. Erected in memory of Private W.E. Robinson D Company 3rd Volunteer Battalion The King's(Liverpool) Regiment Who died May 22nd. 1900 At Modder Spruit, South Africa In the service of his country in the Boer War. Aged 29 underneath 'Honour The Brave'
