About the memorial: Part of a family plaque commemorating the father and daughter of PO Stickney and his brother in law WC Welland. Located on the right hand side of the Nave. P/O C.M. Stickney MIA 06/07/41 He was the Pilot of 226 Sqn Blenheim Z7272 MQ-? that had departed Wattisham for Anti- Shipping Ops The aircraft collided with the mast of a ship off the Dutch Coast and crashed into the North Sea. All three crew remain missing and are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial Also remembered on the plaque is W/C R.D. Welland MiD MIA 12/09/41 Officer Commanding 55 Sqn, he was Pilot of 55 Sqn Blenheim Z9588 that had departed Beirut at 0355 on an Anti-Submarine patrol. A W/T message was received at 0515 after which nothing further was heard. The aircraft was lost without trace The crew of three and an Army liaison officer remain missing. The RAF personnel are commemorated on the El Alamein Memorial
