About the memorial: This memorial seat certainly exists but I have been unable to establish exactly where it is. It does not seem to be alongside the main memorial on the Main Road, so it may be in the Memorial Garden at the church. Further local research would be welcome. Update from IOM National Inventory of War Memorials (25/04/2016): Their title for the memorial is: 'Falklands War Memorial, Whitebridge Road, Onchan', which suggests it may be there. Wooden plaque. Seat was originally wooden bench but has been replaced by concrete ended bench. Plaque has been replaced hence mistake in the date. Memorial unveiled 5 September 1982. Memorial dedicated by Rt. Rev. Vernon Nicholls, Lord Bishop of Sodor and Man. Sponsored by Manx Variety Club. Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials: IOM_NIWM_ONC_00007
