About the memorial: Rectangular, brass plaque on marble backboard. Foliate design in top corners in black and gold. Black cross top centre. Inscribed arch below cross and foliate design with columns at either side of the plaque. Motto spans the arch. Additional plaque below also on a marble backboard for WWII.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. In memory of the men of this parish who sacrificed their lives in the service of their Country 1914 - 1918. 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends'. St. John. XV. 13. Also of those who fell in the World War 1939 - 1945.
