About the memorial: Granite tapered Obelisk on a pedimented plinth and step, which is on a 3 stage stone base. Each face of the obelisk has a separate carved badge- an anchor for the naval men, the wildcat for the Seaforth Highlanders, also the badges of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, the Black Watch and the Gordon Highlanders, which makes 5, as the first 2 badges are on the same faceSituated within a square enclosure formed by capped stone walls with a modern metal entrance gate, on the north side of a right angled bend just outside Staxigoe on the road to Noss Head

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
