About the memorial: Celtic Cross tapered on plinth and three-stepped base. Front of cross has St. George and the Dragon carved in half relief below flowers and leaves entwined with cord. Dedicatory inscription on front face of plinth and names on marble tablets attached to sides of plinth. Additional tablet placed at foot of cross for WW2 inscription. There is also a Roll of Honour for the East Boldon Boys Brigade in WW2 contained in the Centenary History of East Boldon Methodist Church. As it is not clear whether this was ever a physical memorial it is not recorded as a separate memorial, as it does not qualify in this format- but it is worthy of note. Those named as fallen are- Eric Robson, Maurice Holme, Gordon Stirling, John Turner and Miles William Scott.
