About the memorial: Freestanding stone gate with metal gates at churchyard entrance. Gateway formed of locally quarried blocks with occasional insets of darker stone blocks and double iron gates. A lantern style lamp surmounts each gate post. Dedicatory stone tablets placed on the front face of each gate post. Left hand gate has a cut out metal representation of a West Highland galley and the right hand gate has a cut out metal representation of a Pictish warrior. On the stone arch over gates is an incised cross above rays of sun setting behind mountains.
