Rural District Council of Windsor – Kingswick Gardens, thesegardens were dedicated on 17th May 1953 by the Vicar of Sunninghill as a memorial to those who fell in the World Wars of 1914 - 1918 and 1939 - 1945 and are maintained to provide a place of rest and quietude. The adjoining housing scheme at Nell Gwynne Avenue designed by Messrs Sainsbury & Chamberlain of Reading and built by Messrs Wells (Old Windsor) Ltd, was awarded the 1953 housing medal and diploma of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government for the southern region.
