IN MEMORY OF COL CHARLES CYRIL TAYLOR XXIXTH REGR CB AIDE DE CAMP TO HER MAJESTY WHO WAS KILLED WHEN COMMANDING A BRIGADE AT SOBRAON ON THE SUTLEJ 10TH FEB 1846 AGED 41 YEARS. HE WA THE ELDEST SON OF LT COL TAYLOR XXTH DRAGOONS KILLED AT VIMIERA IN 1808 AND ELIZABETH, DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN BAKER ESQ OF THIS PARISH FORMERLY MP FOR CANTERBURY. THIS TABLET HAS BEEN ERECTED BY THE SURVIVINGSISTER OF A BELOVED BROTHER WHOSE MORTAL REMAINS LIE INTERRED NEAR THOSE OF HIS BROTHER MAJOR JGB TAYLOR ZIIITH LIGHT INFANTRY AT FEROZOPORE EAST INDIES
