About the memorial: Built into the wall of Butterton churchyard on the left of the entrance gate, dedicated 20th August 2006. The memorial takes the form of a poppy with the word REMEMBRANCE. There are no names as Butterton men all returned, from both World Wars, and is thus a "Doubly Thankful Village"
