Lettering: Incised
About the memorial: There is a central plaque on the organ to the dead of WW1 and on either side of this are two plaques to the dead of WW2. This organ was a War Memorial installed in St. Germain's Church in 1922. The new church had been built during the first world war, one of very few built at that time, and St. Germain's Church was consecrated for a new parish in September 2017. A letter dated October 1920 with the title: War Memorial: Organ Fund, and still in church records, states that the Church Council decided that its parochial thanksgiving for a victorious end to the war, and memorial to those who gave their lives, should take the form of the provision of an organ worthy of the new church. An appeal for donations to raise the £2000 required was sent out in October 1920 and the organ was built by Rushworth and Dreaper Ltd in 1922. There are records of the upkeep of the organ over the years, but it is sadly currently out of use due to the need for major repair work.
