About the memorial: Large church built as a memorial to those who died during the battle. On the outside east wall is a statue of Henry IV, victor of the battle. Inside, on the roof beams, are the shields of the knights who fought with him.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Original plaque - ST MARY MAGDALENE, BATTLEFIELD. THE CHURCH OF A CHANTRY COLLEGE FOUNDED TO PRAY FOR THOSE SLAIN IN THE BATTLE OF SHREWSBURY 1403 (NOT EXACT WORDING). 1861 plaque - This Church/ Dedicated to St Mary Magdalene/ was built and ordered by King Henry/ in Memory of the Battle of Shrewsbury 1403/ having fallen into decay its restoration originally by a public subscription/was finally completed in the year of Our Lord 1861/ at the private cost of Annabella wife of Sir Theodore Brinckman/ according to plans prepared by S, Pountney Smith/ SOLI DEO GLORIA
