Hallowed memory of our heroic dead.Plaque - Given by Eric and Stanley Hensleigh Walter in memory of their kinsman Fleet Surgeon Hugh Leigh Norris R.N. who gave his life for his country while on duty in H.M.S. Indefatigable in the Battle of Jutland, May 31st, 1916. Hand-written plaque - 'If ye break with us who die/ We shall not sleep, though poppies grow/ In Flanders field'. 'O Valiant Hearts who to your glory came/ Through dust of conflict and through battle flame;/ Tranquil you lie, your Knightly virtue proved,/ Your memory hallowed in the Land you loved'.
