About the memorial: It commemorates a Second Lieutenant from the Royal Tank Regiment who was killed during the battle of Gazala in Libya during an overwhelming victory by theGerman commander, Rommel. The plaque also remembers his brother who was,killed in 1936. Their father was the parish vicar.
