About the memorial: A three light stained glass window with a soldier in highland uniform at the centre and standing in the cemetery at Beaumont Hamel, on the south side of the nave. At the top is the regiment's crest above a cascading shower of poppies over a white cross with WW1 years. On either side are associated animals (wild cat & boar) & Latin quotation. Dedicated 1 July 2016. Commemorates the part played by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in WW1, of whom 6900 died. Depicts a young Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders soldier . Surrounded by gravestone carrying the names of WW1 battles. With a metal dedication plaque below.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
