About the memorial: The memorial is on the north aisle wall of the church. It takes the form of a wooden panel to which are attached two brass plaques. The upper plaque has at the top a latin cross between the dates 1914 and 1919 coloured in red with the inscription in black letters, this is attached to the board by 4 bolts with the heads in the form of rose flowers. A makers name is inscribed in small uncoloured letters 'W, Hewitt. City Chambers York'. The lower board has the words 'LEST we FORGET' in red letters and two sprays of Forget-me-not flowers coloured in blue and green.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
