About the memorial: An embroidered memorial banner dedicated to the voluntary hospitals of Cheshire in the First World War. It was placed in the South Transept in 1919 and moved to the Consistory in 1964 following its repair by the Royal School of Needlework. The banner features the badges of St John Ambulance and the Red Cross. There is a glazed printed description on the adjacent wall (see photograph)
