About the memorial: Kneeling sailor and Black Watch soldier behind on plinth. See Links for more info and photos. Info from 2008 suggests this memorial needed some restoration. The theme of this monument lies in the grouping of two figures. One a sailor kneeling on a pedestal, with his gaze tarned down the forth, and his hands on a shell, whilst standing behind him in full equipment, his greycoat turned back as if by the wind, is the figure of a Black Watch soldier. They stand on top of a large square pillar. On the four sides of the pillar are commemorative tablets.
