In loving memory of / Charles George Edric Clowes / Lieutenant Kings Royal Rifles / born in this parish Feb. 28th 1892 / and baptised in this church. / He fell in action near Ypres Feb. 15 1915 / and is laid to rest on Bailleul cemetery. // He died the noblest death a man may die / fighting for God and right and liberty / and such a death is immortality.
