About the memorial: The memorial takes the form of stone tablets attached to the east side of the Town Hall in Yarmouth. The First World War tablet has a curved top with a carved wreath and ribbons, in the centre of the wreath can be found the arms of the town. The Second World War tablet has been added underneath. The names on both tablest are incised in two columns. IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF YARMOUTH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1919 [NAMES] AND IN 1939-1945 [NAMES] THEIR NAMES SHALL LIVETH FOR EVERMORE The town hall was built in 1763.
