About the memorial: The memorial takes the form of stone tablets attached to the east side of the Town Hall in Yarmouth. The First World War tablet has a curved top with a carved wreath and ribbons, in the centre of the wreath can be found the arms of the town. The Second World War tablet has been added underneath. The inscriptions are: IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF YARMOUTH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1919 [NAMES] AND IN 1939-1945 [NAMES] THEIR NAMES SHALL LIVETH FOR EVERMORE The town hall was built in 1763.
