About the memorial: Impressive war memorial board dedicated to 145 men from Winsford Liberal Club. Records the names of 133 men who served and returned, and 12 who lost their lives during the First World War. Painted on 4 oak panels beneath a dedication inscription containing the Royal Arms. Height 1.83M, Width 1.83M Unveiled: 10 May 1921 Attended by: SIR JOHN BRUNNER Found for sale on eBay 12/12/2016. WMT have contacted the custodian to ask for the item to be removed and have offered WMT's help and assistance. Honours board for members of the Liberal Club, Siddorn Street, Winsford, Cheshire, who served in WW1. Removed from the club on its closure in 2015, then put on temporary display in the Help for Heroes shop, Winsford, and from there to a house clearance dealer in Stoke-on-Trent. Offered for sale on eBay in December 2016; believed to have then been sold privately to a private collector, possibly in the north of England / Scottish Borders area. Present whereabouts unknown. Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
