To the Glory of God the cross on the east end of this church was given in the memory of Francis Henry Newdigate aged 48 Staff Sergeant Royal Medical Corps also of Percy Chatterton aged 21 52nd Company Imperial Yeomanry (Paget’s Horse) both killed in the Boer War at Faberspruit near Douglas Cape Colony May 30th 1900. R.I.P.
