About the memorial: A rectangular alabaster tablet with an ornamented frieze at the head, a carved frame containing blocks of foliation and a niche at each side containing the flags of the allied nations, and a moulded inverted cornice at the foot. The commemoration is in a panel at top centre, with carved crossed keys on each side. Names are in four columns in a large central panel and the inscription is in black upright capital lettering.
