About the memorial: A white marble tablet with a frieze and cornice at the head decorated with laurel leaves and a moulded cornice at the foot. Small formy crosses are located at each corner. The incised inscription is in upright capital Roman lettering coloured black. Fragments of stone on the reverse suggest that the tablet was once mounted on a black slate backboard.
