inscription on a brass plaque on the alter: THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION (PEASMARSH BRANCH) This is the "GALLIPOLI ALTER" Used by The Rev. E. T. Clarke As chaplain to H.M. Forces During 1914-1918 War. The alter was brought back to Peasmarsh when he became Vicar of this parish in 1920.until his death in 1938. A MEMORIAL IS SITUATED IN THE CHURCHYARD.
