To the memory of Lieut. Frank Redfern Smith D.S.M. son of William Smith, native of this parish, who volunteered in 1914, served through Gallipoli in the Royal Naval Division Engineers and gave his life for his Country’s cause in the Great War. Died of wounds November 17th 1917 and was interred at Nine Elms Cemetery, Poperinghe.
