About the memorial: It is in the form of an ornate cross surmounting a rough-hewn pink granite stepped base on which the names of the dead are inscribed. Sculpted in relief on the cross is a laurel wreath covering crossed arms (rifle and sword) with an anchor in the centre. Location at SW corner of playing field, Barns Brae, Ferryden. It was moved there in 1949 from a site close to the old Inch Bridge (as shown in pictures on SWMP site)
