Status: On original site
Type: Freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Unknown cross
Lettering: Painted
Conflicts:
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Lettering is badly weathered. Inscription of names is fair. Repair was started some time ago but because the scouts are busy updating their building nothing has been done since it was photographed in October 2015. As can be seen from the photographs the scouts have replaced the original simple cross with a new one. The front depicts a gold Fleur de Lys (the scout symbol) and at the back there is a circle with a dot in the centre and '1939-1945'. It is difficult to tell whether or not the name J.Janion comes before or after the word Scouts because the bottom is circular. I THINK it is before that word because of the way it is aligned. The names are not in alphabetical order.
