About the memorial: Sword that Lord Worsley carried into battle. Lord Worsley is buried in Ypres Town Cemetery Extension. This is to the right hand side of the altar on the south wall of the chancel. There is a brass plaque of explanation below it and Lord Worsley's "Death Penny" below that. The IWM Register has an original entry 42985 which has a photo of the plaque but not the sword, a blank entry 91182 and an entry with a photo of the sword and the plaque 91183. Clearly some investigation is required.

This sword was carried by Charles Sackville, Lord Worsley Lieutenant, Royal Horse Guards, who died for his King and Country at Zandvoorde on 30th October 1914. Buried in Ypres Cemetery. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.
