About the memorial: At the end of the 1st World War, there was a national movement to provide memorials to the fallen. On 20.12.1920 Lieutenant Colonel Maurice M L Bell unveiled The Dedicatory Tablet which records the names of the fallen. A Roll of Honour Tablet, which records the names of those who had served in the 1st World War, was also unveiled.
