About the memorial: Summerlee Ward (Children’s Ward) Finchley Memorial Hospital, World War 1 Clinic named in 1922 to commemorate the Summerlee (VAD) Auxiliary Military Hospital, (Convalescent), corner of Summerlee Avenue and Fortis Green, East Finchley N2 9QP (Summerlee was a large mansion built around 1822, it became an auxiliary hospital and convalescent home for wounded servicemen during WW1.Summerlee Ward "does not exist anymore" it is incorporated in Finchley Memorial Hospital
